Started from the same interst and hobbies, ridding and touring with an Iron Horse Harley Davidson together with their Love's one, these club form a group name White Eagle - WE, base at Tanah Kusir South Jakarta in Mid of 2004. With tour program achivement; Puncak November 2004, Bandung West Java December 2004, Bromo East Java - Bali February 2005 and "Wing Day" Pangandaran (the 5 years occassion), where at this point Bro Arvan and Bro Budi joint the club for a rides.
Pangandaran tour was the last WE tour we had since several of the members were not acitve any more due to their routine activities (work load they have) as well as diferent vision are appear to be the case...

But touring did not stop here for those real bikers; Bro Hilman, Bro Budi, Bro Arvan and Bro Dody continued thier touring advanture in Jakarta city as well as province to province distance. Where in any way this small group are always doing un-prepared touring without any plan together with their wife discovering the road of Indonesia.

In several events where we are present in Jakarta or other cities, we are always being asked for which group are we beloging, and since we does not belong to any other group we declare our self "The Chapter"...
Starting this point where we declare our name THE CHAPTER; started with a small number of couples riders we grow to todays 15 couples and single riders; name Bro Hilman, Dody, Arvan, Budi, Chandra, Jobi, Rico, Steve, Widhi, Ujang, Irwan, Anjar, Errawan, Angga, Andi and the only Korean in the group Bro S.J., where we also have Chapter good friends (Bro Aswin, Rio, Octo, Tondo, Afif Mabua, Yoyo Mabua, Budi PDG, and others Bro's...)

Chapter base camp is at Jl. Jeruk Manis Kav. DKI Blk V, No. 5 Meruya and where we ussually and regularlly meet every other Sunday at Mabua Harley Davidson TB Simatupang. With our Road Captain Bro Hilman, Road Safety Bro Dody, Wing Man Bro Andi, 3 Sweeper's Bro Arvan, Budi and Bro Jobi, EO Sis Ranti, and Sis Dara our WEB-site editor.
And we are also equipt with all safety equipment such Reflector savety vest for all officer's, Service car (provided by Bro Budi) and Back up car (provided by Bro Jobi) following all our Chapter touring activities.

Since we have the same vision where Chapter is a family ridding and a Family gathering, we have all that we called solid relation between the members. So this is not just ridding we achive but we also include our Kids on the circle, and program so far we had are Charity event, Culinary, Gliding in the sky with Bro Steve, Aeromodeling with Bro Hilman, Steve and Irwan, outbound with Bro Tondo, as well as travelling to other country latelly was Singapore hunting and shopping motorcycles saftey equipment at Dainese, HD spareparts and accesories and other positive programe where our hope is for us to be more solid as in relation as well as familys is concerned.

Chapter touring achivements so far in the Indonesia region; Medan-Padang, Jakarta-Bali, Makasar-Soroako, and severals Jakarta-Bandung-Jakarta, Jakarta-Tasikmalaya-Jakarta, and Jakarta-Jogja-Jakarta.

Cool Stuff Being Made: How Harley Davidson Motorcycles Are Made

This week, we turn to the NAM's policy division coordinator and Harley-Davidson owner - and rider - Andrew Acker who writes about the video you are about to watch:

Harleys are timeless yet stylish-looking machines built to please the eye, without ever compromising their ruggedness or efficiency. The bikes begin their lives as several simple parts that, during this 45-minute excursion down the assembly line, come together to form a road warrior. It begins with a frame, to which the engine, wheels and electrical wiring are attached, followed by accessories and small parts. After the surprisingly short process, the hogs are then test driven on-site, for any kinks that may need to be worked out before being shipped. Once past inspection, they are loaded on to crates and shipped to a dealership near you.
Each Harley is built with the amount of care and pride one would have if they were building it for themselves. In fact, many Harley workers are Harley owners as well. The assembly line from which this American tradition comes is filled with people who believe that the bikes they build are the best in the world. This is evident by the trophies won in races past, a lasting effort to keep the business in the family, and the use of the motorcycles in World Wars I and II.

Being a Harley rider and proud owner of a Sportster 883 Low, I am confident that Harleys are built and tested for safety and dependability, which matters most on the open road.

Driven all over the world and for a world of different reasons, Harleys are sure to bring pleasure to any who "swings a leg." Click here to feel the manufacturing vibe!

The Tomahawk Operations facility was established in 1963 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and quickly became the sole supplier of fiberglass parts for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Since then and after several expansions, the Kaphaem Road and Somo Avenue facilities comprise 192,000 square feet, standing proudly on 96 acres of land.
More than 400 employees manufacture plastic and fiberglass parts, including sidecars, saddlebags, and windshields. Tomahawk’s Somo Avenue facility paints, assembles, and ships the components to the York Vehicle Operations facility where it all comes together on Original Equipment motorcycles. The Diversified Products division on Kaphaem Road includes sidecar production, Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories, and does custom painting for unique orders.
Your tour begins with an introductory movie. Then you’ll head for the factory floor and discover the individual touches that give Harley-Davidson motorcycles their distinctive style as parts are molded, coated, machined, and painted. The Adventure of a Lifetime

The Adventure of a Lifetime

Hardly back from Sturgis, and it’s time to start getting ready for another great ride. One hundred and five years ago, an American institution was founded and a legend born: Harley-Davidson Motor Company. To commemorate this achievement and to celebrate the Motor Company, “The Ride Home” has already begun. Riders from around the world are descending on Milwaukee for a celebration acknowledging this momentous occasion. With 105 starting points around North America, Harley riders are making a pilgrimage. My journey begins tomorrow.
This ride will be different from my commute to Sturgis in several ways. First, while riding from Brooklyn to Milwaukee is no small ride, it is much shorter than from Brooklyn to Sturgis – about half the distance. Second, I will not be riding by myself. I’ll be riding with a group, which adds a whole other welcomed dimension to a road trip. Third, I’ll be riding a 2008 Road King Classic for this ride. While it will seem weird not to be on my bike for a trip like this, she has done enough this month, and I am excited to experience some of the advancements made in the fourteen years since she was a new ride. Last, but by no means least, when I get home I will have a brand new niece or nephew. My identical twin brother and his lovely wife are expecting their first baby any day now. My request that she deliver sometime between Sturgis and the 105th Anniversary, as of right now, seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
Now, as if this gig couldn’t get any sweeter, here’s the kicker: the group I am riding with includes the Davidson family. Eighteen years ago when I bought my first Harley-Davidson motorcycle, if you had asked me if I thought I’d ever meet one of the Davidsons, I’d have said no. If you had told me I’d be on a road trip with them, I’d have said you were out of your freakin’ mind. But here I am about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime, and I can’t wait.

A 1974 Harley gets a 1947 makeover for 2008

With thousands of Harley riders and enthusiasts enjoying the 105th Anniversary festivities, there were a couple of local enthusiasts who really seemed to epitomize the spirit of Harley on this night.
Lifelong Milwaukeean Steve Peters and his nephew Ryan arrived at Juneau Avenue on a 1974 XLCH Sportster. While riding a bike of that era is unusual on its own, Peters’ retro customization, costume and attitude take it to another level.

Peters, a self-employed graphic designer specializing in vintage design, considers his Sportster as close as he can get to his dream bike of the famous 1936 EL. After buying the Sportster for $1,974 (get it?) in 1992, Peters decided to reverse a couple numbers and began turning back the clock to give it a 1947 look and feel.
Some of the “streamline” vintage design cues on Peters’ 1000 cc bike include 3-foot wide handlebars, small round mirrors, exhaust, sprung solo seat, leather saddlebags, vintage tank emblem, chrome speedlines, horn and toolkit. Mechanically, the bike uses a kick start with shift controls on the right side. Despite all that retrofitting, Peters estimates he rides the bike almost 1,000 miles a year and attends numerous events and bike shows, including all previous Harley anniversaries.

Peters’ bike was likely produced at the Harley-Davidson York, Pa. facility just after major production work shifted there from Juneau Avenue. However, since parts were still being made at Juneau Avenue at that time, it’s possible some of Peters’ Sportster was born at the historic Milwaukee location. Local dealers also enjoy helping with the restoration project when he needs vintage parts.
Dressing the part of an authentic dapper biker from the art deco era, Peters was sporting a vintage cap, pants, leggings and boots along with a brown button-down shirt and thin black tie.
The retro look and feel Peters brought to the Kick-Off event was appreciated by his 22-year-old nephew Ryan, who rode in with him and looks forward to riding someday.
Peters shares an appreciation for the design of that bygone era, including that of Milwaukee legend Brooks Stevens with Harley’s design guru Willie G. Davidson, who worked at Stevens before coming to Harley-Davidson in 1963. “I guess I was just born too late,” Peters concluded.

history

1901William S. Harley, age 21, completes a blueprint drawing of an engine designed to fit into a bicycle.

1903William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson make available to the public the first production Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. The bike was built to be a racer, with a 3-1/8 inch bore and 3-1/2 inch stroke. The factory in which they worked was a 10 x 15-foot wooden shed with the words "Harley-Davidson Motor Company" crudely scrawled on the door. Arthur's brother Walter later joins their efforts.

1904The first Harley-Davidson Dealer, C.H. Lang of Chicago, IL, opens for business and sells one of the first three production Harley-Davidson motorcycles ever made.

1905On July 4th, a H-D motorcycle wins a 15 mile race in Chicago with a time of 19:02. In Milwaukee, the first full-time employee is hired.

1906A new factory, measuring 28 x 80 feet, is built on the Chestnut St. site, later renamed Juneau Avenue. Staff size is increased to six full-time employees. Also, the first motorcycle catalog is produced by the Company and the nickname "Silent Gray Fellow" is used for the first time.

1907William A. Davidson, brother to Arthur and Walter Davidson, quits his job as tool foreman for the Milwaukee Road railroad and joins the Motor Company.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company is incorporated on September 17th. The stock is split four ways between the four founders, and staff size has more than doubled from the previous year to eighteen employees. Factory size is doubled as well. Dealer recruitment begins, targeting the New England region.

1908Walter Davidson scores a perfect 1,000 points at the 7th Annual Federation of American Motorcyclists Endurance and Reliability Contest. Three days after the contest, Walter sets the FAM economy record at 188.234 miles per gallon. Word of Harley-Davidson's extremely tough motorcycle spreads rapidly.

1909The six-year-old Harley-Davidson Motor Company introduces its first V-twin powered motorcycle. With a displacement of 49.5 cubic inches, the bike produces seven horsepower. The image of two cylinders in a 45-degree configuration would fast become one of the most enduring icons of Harley-Davidson history.
